The history of Trentino Alto Adige or also called in german language South Tyrol begins in 1919 begins, when the territories south of the Brenner are separated from the Austrian Tyrol and assigned to Italy.
For centuries, two Alpine passes have assured the "land between the mountains" (as it was called Tyrol) a central position in balance of power in Europe.
As a land of border crossing point, Tyrol has been subject, in the course of history, to the expansionist intentions of various Kings and European powers.
South Tyrol has inherited great tradition from the domination of the Habsburgs, remained until the First World War.
By the end of World War, South Tyrol passed under the empire of Italy. |

Over time, Val Garden sculptors became famous for the production of cribs.
